A close shave for the Danes, but in the end the Viking were sent packing. It was a tough fight and the Vikings left many more dead than they left themselves. But victory for Olaf was an uphill struggle with his ever dwindling warband.
As a reward for their hard-fought battle, Olaf promotes one of his warrior unit to Hearthguard and equips them accordingly. However much longer can the Vikings continue with an ever decreasing warband? Erik speaks... 'These Vikings will pay in time for their boldness, but for now I have more pressing matters on my border to deal with. That Saxon Scum Sherrard has run home to his mother breast - but he will recieve no succor and I will give no quarter. I will have Sherrad's head on spike before this campaign is at an end!'

The bards will sing of this day, this battle, this carnage! As the Scots, already weakened by war and pestilence sail to the Viking homelands in search of wealth and glory, they are met with what seems at first to be an equally weak foe, and for sure it seems their leader is not fully in possession of his wits as he makes clumsy and foolhardy thrust with his Hearthguard and they are dismissed. But mistakes were to be made by both Warlords this day and the payback is harsh. Both warbands are reduced to nought as quickly as dried leaves are blackened by fire. In the end it is the steely gaze of Warlord to Warlord. Both thrust but only one falls. It is Victory for Olaf, but the cost is great.
